| Entitled Frogs & Fairies, scenes on both sides of a Sperm whale tooth. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Per Bob Engnath in his 1985 book entitled The Second Scrimshaw Connection: Patricia lives in Taos, NM, near the sacred Taos Mountains. She has been a full-time scrimshander for several years, and specializes in surrealistic fantasy designs and wildlife scenes. She employs a combination of the straight line and stipple technique. Although preferring full, vivid color, she also works in black & white. Patricia can work from a favorite photo or totally design an original scene. She has scrimshawed more knives and gun grips than she can count, working both for her husband Michael, who has makes knives, and other knifemakers. She is an associate member of the Knifemakers Guild and shows her work every year at shows in California, New York, Las Vegas, Kansas City, and Dallas. In addition to scrimshaw, she also engraves on ivory and metal. |
